MIL-W-22759 (SAE AS22759)
Covers fluoropolymer-insulated copper and copper alloy wire, commonly used in aerospace and motorsport. The insulation (often ETFE / Tefzel) is highly resistant to chemicals, radiation, and extreme temperatures.
Why Use It Over Automotive Wire?
While standard automotive TXL wire is rated to 125°C, it has a thick PVC or XLPE jacket. M22759/32, for example, is rated to 150°C, has a much thinner jacket (saving massive amounts of weight and bundle diameter), and will not emit toxic smoke when burned (unlike PVC).
